Scott has integrated empowerment techniques into his private practice for over 20 years. He is a specialist in the treatment of addictions, anxiety, OCD, trauma and Post Traumatic Stress.
Scott is a practicing psychotherapist and public speaker for government, private sector and nonprofit organizations. He is an author, editor and subject matter expert. He provides training and clinical supervision to other mental health and addiction professionals. He serves as a member of the NASW Addictions Institute for Policy, Planning, Training and Development in New York City. He is former Contractor/Care Ambassador and Team Lead at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta and New York City.
He has served as a district examiner to substance abuse counselors for the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
He trained in psychiatry and addiction treatment at major New York City hospitals, medical and private clinics. He has treated adults, adolescents and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
He is a media consultant who has been featured for his work in mental health, addictions, and for PTSD/Trauma Response throughout the 9/11 World Trade Center disaster and other critical incidents.
Prior to establishing his private practice, he was educated at UC Berkeley,
New York University and Harvard University.
